|Altech qualifies for 2011 JSE Socially Responsible Investment Index|
The SRI Index comprises listed companies which meet criteria related to their environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies, management practices and reporting. The first of its kind in an emerging market, and a leader worldwide, the index’s intention is two-fold: to encourage companies to operate responsibly and transparently and to prompt institutions to consider ESG factors when evaluating potential investments.

It gives me great pleasure to advise you that I have just been informed by the JSE Securities Exchange that Altech has successfully qualified for the new JSE Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) Index. While results are preliminary, I have been advised that any possible final minor changes to Altech’s result will not change the group’s positive qualification status.

|Altech responds to Competition Commission Recommendation|
Allied Technologies Limited, Altech, says it is surprised at the recommendation of the Competition Commission against its acquisition of NamITech, which has been made public by the Commission. The Chief Executive Officer of Altech, Craig Venter, said in response to the recommendation that the final ruling on the acquisition was in the jurisdiction of the Competition Tribunal and that he was confident with regard to the due process taking its course.

Altech, South Africa’s leading R5,5 billion turnover TMT group, listed on the JSE Securities Exchange where, according to the Financial Mail, it is South Africa’s eleventh best listed company, stated the following yesterday with regard to the Econet joint venture.

|Altech says No to overpriced Prism|
Following Net1’s matching of Altech’s bid price of 116 cents per Prism share, Altech has decided to withdraw its proposed bid for Prism which was announced on 24 February 2006. Net1 had obtained from certain Prism shareholders undertakings to accept its original offer of 102 cents per share. These undertakings were released if a bid from another source came at a premium of not less than 10%.

|Altech scoops yet another award at IAS|
Altech won the Investment Analyst Society (IAS) award as the Best Reporting and Communications Award in the General Industrial category last night, Thursday, 11 June 2009, at a gala dinner held in Sandton, Johannesburg.This is the third time Altech wins such a prestigious award at IAS’s 24th annual dinner. It won in 2006 and 2008.

|Altech secures digitalset box decoder|
Altech, the JSE listed R3.1 billion South African electronics giant, has been awarded its largest single order to date for digital set top boxes valued in excess of R220 million. Multichoice Africa, the leading supplier of digital set top box systems in Africa, placed the order with Altech’s subsidiary, UEC Technologies (UEC), one of the world’s foremost suppliers of digital satellite TV access products and software solutions.

|Altech secures major deal|
Allied Technologies Limited (“Altech”) today announced that it has acquired a controlling interest in three subsidiaries of Kenya’s Sameer ICT group for US $85.2 million (approximately R650 million). The transaction, effective 1 March 2008, sees Altech acquire a 51% controlling interest in Kenya Data Networks Limited (KDN), Swift Global (Kenya) Limited (Swift) and Infocom Limited (Infocom).

|Altech secures orders valued at R400 million|
Altech today announced that it has secured in excess of R400 million worth of new orders as they move into the 2007 financial year, this in addition to pipeline business already secured during the 2006 year. These include a significant new customer for digital set-top-boxes in India, additional Multichoice orders on the back of the successful 2006 PVR rollout, an asset tracking order for Spoornet, and an emergency service Digital Tetra wireless communication system for the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Council.

|Altech shines at Technology Top 100 Awards|
Allied Technologies (Altech) were dominant in the Technology Top 100 Awards at a prestigious awards evening held on Thursday 21st February 2008 at the University of Johannesburg. The event was hosted by the Da Vinci Institute for the Management of Technology and Innovation under the auspices of the Department of Science and Technology, with Altech winning three Excellence awards.
